Our long-term goals

REAL meals are available in 20 countries across Europe. We produce all our freeze-dried food and military rations in Tromsø, above the Arctic Circle, where efficient transport is crucial. We take full responsibility for our logistics, and that includes reducing transport-related emissions by 20%.

To reach our 2030 target we must

Perfecting Transport No Air
Shipment consolidation

Establish a warehouse close to our customers.

Coordinate and consolidate shipments to reduce the total number of transports and increase load efficiency.

Optimize Route Planning

Use advanced transport management systems (TMS) to plan the most efficient routes and reduce fuel consumption.

Choose low-carbon solutions

Choose low-carbon solutions together with our logistics partner for incoming and outgoing transport.

Internal transport and travel – procure new electric cars. Use local transport provider to ensure carpooling in one’s own city.

Have geographical proximity

A great way to help reduce transport-related emissions is to choose suppliers and partners in nearby communities or countries.

Our approach

Shipment consolidation

We actively work to reduce the number of individual shipments by coordinating and consolidating deliveries. This helps lower total transport volume and increases load efficiency, contributing to a smaller environmental footprint.

Optimized route planning

By using route optimization strategies and transport planning systems, we aim to minimize travel distances, reduce fuel consumption, and improve overall logistics efficiency.

Low-emission transport solutions

Together with our logistics partners, we prioritize low-carbon transport alternatives for both inbound and outbound shipments. This includes evaluating and selecting options that support reduced greenhouse gas emissions across our supply chain.

Sustainable internal transport

We support the transition to more sustainable transport by encouraging the use of electric vehicles, local service providers, and shared mobility solutions wherever possible. These measures help reduce emissions from internal operations and employee travel.

Geographical proximity

Our target is for 80% of purchases to come from suppliers located within a defined short-distance region. This helps reduce transport-related emissions and supports nearby communities.

Impact so far

Perfecting Transport No Air
Shipment consolidation

Established a warehouse with a logistic partner south Sweden. Containers goes by train from Narvik to our logistic hub in Strømstad Sweden.

Optimize Route Planning

Keep close partnerships with Schenker.

Choose low-carbon solutions

As of 2024, we have mapped 71% of outgoing transport.

Have geographical proximity

Approximately 90% of suppliers are in the nordic region.

Key steps moving forward

We are working to improve how we collect and share data on inbound and outbound transport with our partners. One ongoing challenge is the limited availability of electric vehicles among transport providers. Given this constraint, our current 20% emissions reduction target reflects a cautious and realistic approach.
