The importance of cross-departmental collaboration

Food waste is a pressing social issue that impacts not just economic efficiency but also environmental sustainability and equitable resource distribution. To effectively tackle this challenge, a unified and methodical approach is essential, one that encompasses the full spectrum of the food value chain—from the initial production of raw materials through to processing, distribution, and ultimately, consumption.

As a committed member of the NHO, Drytech is dedicated to playing a pivotal role in this initiative. We take our responsibility seriously and CEO Trond Børre Hansen  has signed the industry agreement. We will report our results and our measures relating to food waste annually.

CEO Trond Børre Hansen has confirmed our commitment to our environmental responsibility by signing the industry agreement, and we will uphold this by reporting our food waste reduction results and measures annually.

Trond shares

Since 2016, our company has been systematically tackling food waste; we are more than ready to sign this agreement. We have chosen the year 2020 as our baseline for measurements. Our overarching metric is the number of units produced, as this allows us to set clear, concrete targets for significant impact by 2030.

In recent years, we have achieved very positive results, for which we owe a great deal of gratitude to our skilled employees. Without the commitment of our dedicated team, who strive daily to ensure no food that could be needed or enjoyed is wasted, this progress would not have been possible.

Furthermore, we have invested in new technology and production equipment to support our efforts in reducing food waste. From 2020 to the present, we have cut down food waste by 37.5%, and we are confident that we will reach our goal of a 55% reduction by 2030.
