To achieve this result, we focused on building insight, competence, and collaboration among our operators on the pouch packaging line. The team dedicated time to understanding the process in depth and identifying areas for improvement.
Our operators took an active role in optimizing the packaging line, working closely with the technical department to implement changes and test new solutions. This collaboration made it possible to identify inefficiencies and introduce more consistent routines.
A key part of the improvement has been the introduction of smart technology that inspects every pouch before it leaves the clean zone and enters the distribution area. This ensures that only high-quality products move forward in the process, contributing directly to the 91,48% reduction in wreckage.
Let’s look at our numbers
In 2020 our percentage of wreckage pouches was 0,94%, meaning that for every 100 pouch we had one wreckage pouch. Per august 2025 the percentage is 0,08% which is a significant improvement. This achievement help us reduce food waste as well as unnecessary costs on our production line.

We often receive questions about the shelf life of our meals. Many customers share stories of finding an old REAL pouch that expired years ago and still wondering if it’s safe to eat.
Here’s a simple tip to help you decide:
Look: If the pouch is firm and still vacuum sealed, you can safely open it.
Smell: If it smells good, it will most likely taste good too!
Our rule of thumb is simple: Best before, but often good after, as long as the pouch remains vacuum sealed.
