We are proud to announce a significant reduction in food waste at Drytech, with a 33% decrease when comparing the years 2021 to 2022.

Collaborative efforts for sustainable practices

A workshop focusing on sustainability and its implications for us was held, involving all employees. This collaborative effort was essential in setting the right metrics and objectives to guide our sustainability initiatives.

Empowering employees to save food

Knowledge and understanding of why, what, and how much food we discard have been instrumental in fostering a culture where being a “food saver” is seen as cool. This shift in perspective is crucial for long-term behavioral change.

Donations and improvements

Targeted efforts include donating mislabelled bags and damaged dry goods from suppliers. We’re also working on improving the packaging of incoming ingredients in collaboration with our supply chain.

Technological advancements

Incorporating smart technology to inspect bags in the clean zone of our production process ensures higher quality control and less waste.

Benefits for employees

Implementing a program where employees are offered free lunches or dinners using bags that are safe to consume but lack vacuum sealing and have a short shelf life, further reduces waste.

Ongoing commitments and future plans

We are well underway with various measures, and smart investments are planned for the near future to continue our commitment to sustainability and waste reduction.
