What we measure ourselves on.
To reach the 2030 target, we work on three fronts:
- Less waste in production. The core of it — a 55% reduction.
- Fewer damaged products. Closely tied to production waste.
- Smarter technology. Up-to-date production and digital infrastructure are a prerequisite.
Our approach.
We started by understanding the problem. In 2020 we mapped the entire operation and found where waste actually starts: in raw-material storage, as unsellable or damaged products, and as production loss.
Since then we’ve introduced clear procedures for quality deviations and unsellable products, so less is lost through production and packing. Products that are safe but can’t be sold, we reuse internally or externally rather than discard. Surplus goods go regularly to social and charitable causes — turning potential waste into a resource for the community. In parallel, we invest in smarter production and packing technology for pouches, which cuts waste across the board.
Where we stand.
The work is paying off. From the 2020 baseline to today:
- Raw-material waste: down 50%.
- Defective products: down 80%.
- Misproduction: down 37% (2023 to 2024).
- Food waste per product: halved since 2020.
Next, we’re setting new 2030 targets to take food waste down further still.
